Important Information About Your Dogs Time With Us

At the Dog Lodge we try to ensure every dog maintains their daily routine so that they are settled during their stay with us. To help them settle upon arrival we would suggest that you bring something from home for your dog. A blanket or toy are good home comforts. Every kennel has heated beds to ensure your dog is kept warm on those cold nights. With spacious single, double and king size kennels, all have raised bed’s of different heights to accommodate every dog and their needs. We choose to use duvet’s as bedding but you are more than welcome to bring your own bedding. Please visit our Facilities Gallery page to view pictures of the kennels. We would ask that you provide your own food for your dogs stay. This will help your dog to settle quickly and prevent any stomach upsets! We advise you to bring a well fitted collar and lead and/or any walking aids they are comfortable with.

It is a legal requirement that your dog has his/her annual booster vaccination. It is also The Dog Lodge’s own policy that every dog is vaccinated against kennel cough at least 10 days prior to their stay with us. Please complete both the registration and inventory forms, accessed via the links below. These forms will provide us with full details about your pet including emergency contact details.

Kennel Stay Form

It is a legal requirement that your dog is fully vaccinated. Your dog will require an annual vaccine from your veterinary surgeon. It is our policy that all dogs also have the kennel cough vaccine. We require evidence of this on their arrival.

Essential Checklist

Here are the essential points for your attention regarding your dogs stay with us.

  • Completed Registration Form

  • His/Her annual booster

  • Declaration of any medical condition(s)

  • His/Her kennel cough vaccine (at least 10 days before arrival)

  • His/Her own collar & lead

  • His/Her own food (to avoid stomach upsets)

  • He/She must not have had, or been treated for, diarrhoea in the last 7 days

What are our current charges?2022-04-21T13:01:12+01:00

We are currently charging £17.50 per day. We class a day as up to 24 hr period of stay. (Please note, prices will increase to £20 per night from the 1st September 2022)

Additional Information:

– If your pet’s stay exceeds the 24 hour period you will be charged for the 2nd day.
– Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day will be charged at special rates – please contact us for more information.
– We accept cash or cheque upon collection.

We require you to complete a registration form with your contact details and your dogs details on. We also ask that you bring your dogs vaccination certificate with you.

It is a legal requirement that all dogs have their annual booster. It is our policy that all dogs  have been vaccinated against kennel cough at least 10 days to their arrival with us. We politely ask that you bring your dogs vaccination certificates with you.

Can my dogs be kennelled together?2019-04-12T20:46:04+01:00

We can kennel dogs from the same family together. However, we do have single kennels if you would prefer them to have their own space during their stay at The Dog Lodge.

No dogs from different families will be kennelled or exercised together.

Who provides any veterinary care?2019-04-12T20:56:02+01:00

We ask you to provide full details of your own veterinary practice. We will endeavor to use these when possible, however if we are unable to do so we will contact our own practice, Southmoor Vets, who will come out to the Dog Lodge to treat your dog(s).

How much exercise will my dog receive?2019-04-12T20:47:31+01:00

We base our walking and exercise on the age, breed and health of the dogs who visit us. We generally exercise each dog 3-4 times a day. If you have any specific instructions regarding your dogs exercise regime, please feel free to advise upon arrival.

Can we send raw meat for our dogs?2019-04-12T20:48:48+01:00

Yes. We have freezers in the kennels and are happy to store supplied raw meat for your dogs to be fed during the course of their stay.

I think my dog had a better time at the dog lodge than I did on holiday. Amazing staff,facilities and views, doggie delight for sure! Would without question highly recommend The Dog Lodge.
